Electric field response of strongly correlated one-dimensional metals: A Bethe ansatz density functional theory study

چکیده
We present a theoretical study on the response properties to an external electric field of strongly correlated one-dimensional metals. Our investigation is based on the recently developed Bethe ansatz local-density approximation BALDA to the density functional theory formulation of the Hubbard model. This is capable of describing both Luttinger liquid and Mott-insulator correlations. The BALDA calculated values for the static linear polarizability are compared with those obtained by numerically accurate methods, such as exact Lanczos diagonalization and the density-matrix renormalization group, over a broad range of parameters. In general BALDA linear polarizabilities are in good agreement with the exact results. The response of the exact exchange and correlation potential is found to point in the same direction of the perturbing potential. This is well reproduced by the BALDA approach, although the fine details depend on the specific parameterization for the local approximation. Finally we provide a numerical proof for the nonlocality of the exact exchange and correlation functional.

Superconducting correlation in the one-dimensional t-J model with anisotropic spin interaction and broken parity
A variant of the one-dimensional t-J model with anisotropic spin interaction and broken parity is studied by the nested algebraic Bethe-ansatz method. The gapless charge excitations and the gapful spin excitations are obtained. It is shown that the singlet-superconducting correlation dominates in the lowdensity region by applying the finite-size scaling analysis in the conformal field theory. T...
متن کاملCurrent Density Functional Theory for one-dimensional fermions
The frequency-dependent response of a one-dimensional fermion system is investigated using Current Density Functional Theory (CDFT) within the local approximation (LDA). DFT-LDA, and in particular CDFT-LDA, reproduces very well the dispersion of the collective excitations. Unsurprisingly, however, the approximation fails for details of the dynamic response for large wavevectors. In particular, ...
متن کاملBethe Ansatz and Thermodynamic Limit of Affine Quantum Group Invariant Extensions of the t - J Model
We have constructed a one dimensional exactly solvable model, which is based on the t-J model of strongly correlated electrons, but which has additional quantum group symmetry , ensuring the degeneration of states. We use Bethe Ansatz technique to investigate this model. The thermodynamic limit of the model is considered and equations for different density functions written down. These equation...
متن کاملExcitation spectrum and critical exponents of a one-dimensional integrable model of fermions with correlated hopping*
We investigate the excitation spectrum of a model of N colour fermions with correlated hopping which can be solved by a nested Bethe ansatz. The gapless excitations of particle-hole type are calculated as well as the spin-wave like excitations which have a gap. Using general predictions of conformal field theory the long distance behaviour of some groundstate correlation functions are derived f...
متن کاملPertubation Theory about Self-consistent Field Solution in One-dimensional Hubbard Model
The accurate analytical and numerical calculations of the electronic band structure and ground state properties of strongly correlated electrons within the Hubbard model are performed by constructing convergent perturbation theory for general interaction strength and electron concentration. We test the developed perturbation approach about mean field solution in the extreme conditions of one di...
